The seven wonders of the world may never be the same again…

That’s because they’re reevaluating the current list of top 7 wonders of the world, and they’re inviting you to have a say in the final list of the world’s wonders.

Maybe it simply feeds modern society’s obsession with lists and rankings, but more than 2,000 years after ancient Greeks identified the Seven Wonders of the World, millions of people around the globe are casting Internet ballots to update the list.Source

See what’s on the list…

The fact of the matter is…

In addition to verbal disputes and hard feelings as a result of other “worthy” places not being included on the list, the Seven Wonders of the World list has even been considered flawed by some, and endangered by others.

Vote On The Final List Of Wonders

Over 28 million votes were cast to generate the 21 wonder finalists. The process went something like this:

Voting began in 2001.

The list of nominated monuments swelled to 177.

Those were narrowed down to 77.

In late 2005 a group of experts (each from a different country) picked the current 21 finalists.

Vote here now to choose the Top 7 Wonders of the World! (You have 89 days and 6 hours left to vote.)

You can see the current rankings of the 21 finalists here.

The final 7 wonders of the world will be determined by online voters and announced on July 7, 2007.

The new list would join the roster of the seven ancient wonders, only one of which, the pyramids, still exists. There is scant physical evidence that some, such as the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, ever existed. Source
