TUBING With Dogs At Smoky Mountain River Rat (+ EXPLORE Webb Cave!)

Smoky Mountain River Rat Tubing With Dogs – I’ve been tubing with River Rat Tubing several times now.

I’ve enjoyed tubing with a large group… tubing with my 2-year-old… and tubing with dogs!

See what it’s like floating down the Little River in Townsend TN with dogs.

AND… what it’s like exploring Webb Cave along the river!

TRANSCRIPT:

Hello, my name is Candida Jagger and I’m a writer with The Fun Times Guide.

Today we are floating down the Little River it’s called.. with Smoky Mountain River Rats.

We decided to bring our dogs. Dina is over there swimming — as you can see. But it’s just a super fun way to spend the day. And we wanted to try bringing our dogs.

My girlfriend right now is up in this cave exploring. And she actually has her phone, so we’ll get some video footage.

Alright, when you’re floating down the river you’re going to come up on Webb Cave — which my crazy girlfriend here is about to climb into!

[Oops… we’ll try that again.]

Okay, she failed her first attempt. But she’s gonna try again. There she goes.

[So it looks like it goes in fairly deep. And it kinda turns. There might be a “fork” in there going to either side. I can’t really tell. Hi Dina!]

Okay, so she convinced me to come up into the cave. So here I am. I climbed up from down there.

Alright, so this is what the cave looks like.

We’ve got some light. Another entrance.

And we’ve got MORE light. But pretty cool!

I wouldn’t normally do this but… when in Rome.

Let’s look at the other way out… Look at the river. And all of the other tubers.

Okay, so like I said we were tubing with our dogs today. It’s a pretty easy process. You just have to have a life vest for your dog. And Amanda said that it wasn’t imperative that they have their own tubes… But if we WERE taking an extra tube, we had to tether them.

And Dina is swimming freely somewhere. She would not sit in her tube. [Dina!…]

But… pretty awesome day floating down the river. I highly recommend it! And make sure you check out the cave when you’re here.

Alright, it’s coming to an end. I just wanted to mention something here near the end here. You exit right before the bridge. And you’ll want to stay to your left. The first time I did it, I got veered over to the right. And I had to be rescued by the worker down below. It was pretty embarrassing. I had my kid. But yeah, I got carried away down by the rapids over there. So you’ll want to stay on this side. And you’ll exit.

And then that’s where the shuttle is waiting. It’s a pretty sweet operation they have.

We just finished our tubing and this is where you exit. This is the shaded canopy — in which you can wait for the shuttle. We’re just waiting for a bus.

But they have a pretty sweet operation. And the tube conveyor belt.

Okay Dina… let’s go! The shuttle’s here!

C’mon. This is like the bus at school.

How you doing Winston? Doing alright? He’s hiding.

If you ever find yourself in the Great Smoky Mountain area, tubing down this peaceful scenic Little River might be a good option for you.

Kids over 2 years of age plus dogs under 70 pounds are allowed. So you can really bring the entire family to enjoy the day. It takes approximately 2 hours to float down this portion of the river. All you’ve got to do is show up — and they handle the rest for you!

I actually wrote an article on my first experience tubing with River Rat. And you can find the article link below.

I really love to share my East Tennessee backyard with you! Thanks for watching. And I’ll see you on my next adventure.
